ILM Year 2+
Aerospace :: Team Wright Brothers

Innovation:
This week Team Wright Brothers worked on combining two separate ideas for
their problem of “Space debris in the Earth’s orbit.” They researched certain components of satellites in order to further their own innovative solution. The team is nearing the end of development and will promptly begin the documentation process.
Research Lab:
This week, the team completed Module 4, Atmospheric Flight. In this module, we discussed the forces an aircraft experiences when in flight, and which of these forces are natural and man made. Furthermore, the module covered airfoil design and the movement of aircrafts. The team pondered how different airfoil and wing designs impacts the angle of stall, coefficient of lift, and coefficient of drag. Their activity was in regards to this topic, as they utilized NASA simulation technology to explore an optimal airfoil design given certain constraints.
Research Assignment:
Begin documentation on their final solution.
