The team focused on completing their STAR methodology and Root Cause Analysis. After completion they presented their work and got it approved.

The team carefully reviewed and improved their STAR methodology and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). They also revisited their starbursting to make corrections.

Research Assignment:
Make 10 STAR bursting questions and answer with citations. Complete assigned slides of STAR and RCA.

The innovators initially began class looking over their RCA, making minor changes, the team proceeded to work on their STAR Methodology for the remainder of class time. They were able to divide & conquer the tedious tasks and come together when they needed to for clarification, all the while making worth of their time.

Finish up STAR Methodology (answer questions & cite sources)

The team finished refining their RCA and then reviewed their STAR Methodology and prepped for Mr. Faizan’s review. After Mr. Faizan’s review, they learned how to use
google patents to identify the top ten existing solutions for their problem.

Do a quality check on their starbursting, STAR, and RCA. Finish identifying the top ten existing solutions.

The team reviewed their Root Cause Analysis for their chosen problems. Then, they started brainstorming to create their new top 10 problems. After brainstorming their top 10 problems, they finalized their top 5 problems and are waiting to get them approved.

The team working on their STAR Methodology and Root Cause Analysis. They presented their work and received feedback and critiques. They also went back to review their starbursting questions and answers.

The team finished their timeline and causal graph for RCA and were able to have it approved by the mentor before moving onto identifying the top ten existing solutions for their problem. After they finished this, they moved on to brainstorming solutions for their problem.

Continue brainstorming solutions for primary problem.

AI-ML & Autonomous Tech :: Team Raj Reddy

This team worked on detailing existing solutions to their primary problem. Mr. Faizan advised them to work with a special method to search and understand patents on Google. The innovators were split up into teams in a competition to brainstorm innovative solutions for their problem.

Research Assignment:
Finish existing solutions (list Google Patents) and brainstorm 5 solutions to the problem (note on slides).

For the morning, the kids started with so much energy and interest in their problem, ‘air is invisible, how could we make air visible?’ they created paper models of their inventions, such as a fog/steam curating hoverboard, eye drops that could allow the eyes to perceive air particles, and a tank that colors the air around it. Their creativity was intense and demonstrated abstract thinking.

The kids of the afternoon needed a little inspiration to curate ideas for their problem. Being the same problem as earlier, ‘air is invisible, how could we make air visible?’ the kids designed glasses that they could wear to see air particles as a solution!
