Two brothers from Patna’s Samanpura locality – Mirza Rizwan and aerospace scientist Mirza Faizan – are receiving accolades in the USA for changing the way middle and high school students approach their careers. Thanks to DiscoverSTEM, an innovation module designed by Rizwan and delivered in the USA by Faizan, the students associated with the initiative have
started thinking like innovators.
Under this module, children are trained in a step-by-step manner to think like scientists and innovators. In the last 30 months, the two brothers have mentored more than 140 young innovators aged between 10 and 18 years, whose innovations are under patenting process with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
“The modules are delivered through engaging lectures, discussions and brainstorming activities,” Rizwan told this newspaper. “In last 36 months, over 44 of our students won innovation competitions conducted at NASA. Six of our students also secured seats in top US universities, like Harvard, Stanford, Duke University and internships at Massachusetts Institute of Technology,” Rizwan claimed.
