Problem Statement:
More than 20% of emergency patient’s deaths are caused by ambulance delays.
These delays are caused by traffic signals, poor coordination, and outdated dispatch systems. Manual communication and evasive navigation waste precious minutes, while even small hold-ups worsen patient outcomes. Current systems lack real-time integration between ambulances, traffic, and hospitals. What’s urgently needed is an intelligent, connected platform that routes requests instantly, optimizes navigation, and ensures patients reach hospitals as fast as possible.
About the Innovation:
This team of young inventors at DiscoverSTEM innovated a Smart Rescue System that links ambulances, traffic signals, and hospitals on one platform.
A mobile app request triggers geolocation to find the nearest ambulance, optimized navigation guides drivers, and upcoming signals turn green automatically to clear the path. Patient details and live ambulance location are shared with the hospital. en route—delivering faster, smarter, and lifesaving emergency response.
