Problem Statement:
Conventional methods for launching large projectiles, such as missiles or rockets, rely on fuel combustions, which are costly, complex, and dangerous.
There is a need for a safer, cost-effective method that uses natural underwater pressure to launch heavy projectiles without fuel combustion. Such a system could revolutionize maritime defense, deep-sea exploration, and emergency payload delivery.
About the Innovation:
Young Inventors at DiscoverSTEM developed a deep-sea pressure-based projectile launching system that uses the extremely high pressure of deep seawater to propel projectiles.
The system features a large barrel, a piston, and water pumps that generate immense pressure. When the hinged doors open, the pressure pushes the piston, launching the projectile at an extremely high speed without the need for fuel or explosions, making it safer, cost-effective, and less complex compared to traditional systems.
